Enjoy a three-tiered service of festive finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones, decadent desserts, and a curated selection of teas sure to delight your senses. Afterward, take a leisurely stroll through the beautifully decorated Main Residence, where history and holiday splendor come alive in every room.

Inspired by the elegant debutante receptions Eleanor Ford once hosted for her granddaughters during the festive seasons of the 1950s and 1960s, this tea experience carries on her tradition of grace and celebration. About the Artist

Chanah Ambuter

Chanah Ambuter will play live harp music to enchant guests throughout the Holiday Tea. Chanah Ambuter is a professional harpist based in Metro Detroit, known as The Michigan Harpist. She discovered her passion for the harp at age 11 and trained at The Juilliard School's Pre-College Division, the University of Michigan, and the University of Illinois, where she earned a Master of Music in Harp Performance and Literature. She performs for weddings, corporate events, and concerts, offering a wide-ranging repertoire of over 1,000 pieces, from classical and Celtic to jazz, pop, and Broadway. Her main instrument is a limited-edition Salvi Iris harp, admired for its rich, romantic tone. In addition to performing, Chanah teaches harp students of all ages and has earned recognition such as The Knot's Best of Weddings and WeddingWire’s Couples' Choice Awards.

Christmas Concert Over the Cove

Celebrate the season with live music by the water!
Join singer Vanessa Carr for Christmas Concert Over the Cove, an evening of holiday favorites and smooth seasonal sounds. Set against the sparkling backdrop of Ford Cove, the concert takes place in the cozy Lake Shore Room on the second floor of the Visitor Center.

Enjoy classic carols, modern holiday tunes, and a few fun surprises as Vanessa Carr fills the room with the sounds of the season. Each ticket includes one drink ticket and access to the dessert buffet.

Space is limited, so grab your seat early—this intimate concert is the perfect way to kick off the holidays. Make dinner reservations with The Continental to make it a full evening at Ford House.

About the Artist

Vanessa Carr

Vanessa Carr is a world-class entertainer noted for her dynamic musical performances. As a singer and dancer recognized for her emotional interpretations, humorous renditions, captivating storytelling, and genuine connection to audiences, Vanessa sparks joy in the hearts of her listeners. Her ever-growing repertoire includes a diverse variety of genres: Broadway show tunes, music from The Great American Songbook to Opera, international favorites, and soulful standards. Her influences include Liza Minelli, Barbra Streisand, Tina Turner, Lady Gaga, Frank Sinatra, Shirley Bassey, Tom Jones, Dionne Warwick, Linda Eder, and Linda Ronstadt.

Also specializing in singing the Star Spangled Banner, Vanessa is an award-winning performer who you may have seen kick off Detroit Lions and Tigers games with her rendition of the National Anthem. Among her many performances, Vanessa was also a member of the Detroit Pistons House Band and other accomplished and rising Metro Detroit bands – one of which opened for the Jacksons at Detroit Music Weekend. She shared the stage with Twinkie Clark of The Clark Sisters and Motown’s Martha Reeves. Vanessa has worked alongside Italian Tenor Aaron Caruso (of the Sicilian Tenors) and Dino Valle (of the Bellini Opera Theatre). She relishes in her Italian heritage and finds great joy in taking the stage at Italian festivals and various Italian venues throughout the area. Vanessa has been featured as the opening act in the Andiamo Celebrity Showroom for Las Vegas Showman Frankie Scinta. You may also find Vanessa performing during the holiday season at Frankenmuth’s Bavarian Inn. Other notable performances include starring as Fantine in Les Misérables, Ursula in The Little Mermaid, and entertaining on the Detroit Free Press Marathon course. No matter the event, Vanessa’s audiences are charmed as they are taken on an emotional journey by this astounding powerhouse performer.
